Welcome Aboard!

The Blackheart Renaissance Fencing Club holds practices every Tuesday in Derby, Kansas. We are a non-profit group that studies and practices swordsmanship from the renaissance and post renaissance eras dating from approximately 1100CE to 1800CE.

We participate in various events including demonstrations at schools and in the community, hold a "dueling booth" at the twice annual Great Plains Renaissance Festival, and participate in community events. Most recently the Blackheart Honor Guard had the great honor of participating in Alzheimer's Memory Walk at Sedgwick County Zoo.

Many of our members also participate in the Society for Creative Anachronism. The SCA is "An international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating pre-17th- century European history". Our local SCA group is the Barony Of Vatavia within the Kingdom of Calontir. We also often travel south to the Kingdom of Ansteorra. Captain Seamus O'Shannon recently was honored as the Insegnante of Dignity and Sophistication at Mooneschadowe's Triumphe III.
